About VOTA
The Virginia Occupational Therapy Association or VOTA is the state association that represents Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants who live and work in the Commonwealth of Virginia. VOTA seeks to increase public awareness about occupational therapy and its value in meeting diverse health and participation needs.
VOTA provides members with cost-effective continuing education, legislative representation and a community of Virginia occupational therapy students, practitioners and educators who work together to further our profession.
The association is made up of volunteers who make up the Board of Directors. The Board is made up of Officers, District Chairs, Committee Chairs and Liaisons. The Officers of VOTA are the elected positions of President, Past-President, President-Elect, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, AOTA Representative, and AOTA Alternate Representative. The duties of the Board are to conduct all necessary VOTA business in a manner consistent with the By-Laws and other VOTA policies and procedures.
VOTA maintains a very close working relationship with the universities, colleges and community colleges in Virginia who train Occupational Therapy students. Occupational Therapy students and educators are active participants in our association.
