VOTA is Virginia's leading organization for occupational therapy practitioners and students. VOTA is committed to advocating for and further developing the profession of occupational therapy in our state.

On February 28th, students and practitioners came together at VCU College of Health Professions in Richmond for VOTA's annual Advocacy day. This event is an opportunity for students and practitioners to come together and engage in programming related to the advancement of the OT profession. This year, we had a presentation by our president and legislative liaison about VOTA's efforts to draft scope of practice changes and areas for future advocacy. Delegate Gardner from the 76th district came and spoke about her journey to her role as a delegate and what makes for an impactful meeting with constituents. Attendees then engaged in compiling information for the scope of practice committee to utilize to create advocacy resources for the anticipated scope of practice changes. VOTA is appreciative of the VCU OT program for hosting the event and to all of our members who attended!
