Happy New Year!
Mark your calendars for our January Capital District Meeting!
Tuesday, January 24, 2017 5:30 - 7:00 pm Sheltering Arms Hospital - Hanover Campus Conference Room 3 8254 Atlee Road Mechanicsville, VA 23116
As always, the first 30 minutes will be for mingling and light snacks/refreshments followed by a presentation. This meeting, Allison Krumpe will be presenting on the Bioness StimRouter.
The Bioness StimRouter is the first FDA cleared non-drug, long-term, minimally invasive neuromodulation medical device indicated to treat chronic pain of a peripheral nerve origin. The patient controlled device is an adjunct to other modes of therapy (e.g., medications) and is being well received by patients and clinicians alike. The StimRouter is currently being implanted at prestigious clinical institutions across the country to treat chronic peripheral nerve pain (and now VCU in Richmond, VA), with specific focus on the following conditions or areas: * Axillary nerve (e.g. post-stroke shoulder pain) * Ulnar nerve (e.g. cubital tunnel syndrome) * Ilioinguinal (e.g. post-surgical hernia complication) * Superior Cluneal nerve (e.g. lower back neuralgia)
A patient with the StimRouter implant and her OT will also be attending to discuss the her treatment. This should be a great roundtable/panel discussion for all who attend!
Hope to see you there!
